Admissions and transfers

Education Leeds is wholly-owned by Leeds City Council and contracted to provide educational support services on their behalf. We are responsible for all aspects of schools admissions and transfers.

We are required to have in place arrangements for parents to apply for a school place in primary schools including reception and Year 3 (junior schools); and secondary schools in Year 7.  We must also have arrangements for parents to apply for a school outside of the normal arrangements, for example if they move house.

Applying for a primary or secondary school place for September 2011

If you have a child due to start secondary school or primary school in September 2011, you can apply online between the following dates:

Secondary schools between 1 August 2010 and 31 October 2010

Primary schools, including infant and junior schools, between 1 November 2010 and 15 January 2011

Entry to nursery schools
Entry to nursery schools is not administered by the Admissions Team. If you would like a nursery school place you should contact the nursery, or the primary school it is attached to, directly. Further information can be obtained from Leeds Family Hub at www.thefamilyhubleeds.org

Entry to sixth form and college

N.B.  Parklands High and Primrose High are awaiting Ministerial approval in late August.
