What is the Healthy Schools and Wellbeing Service?

We are a team of professional consultants who are passionate about promoting wellbeing and supporting schools. In 2008, we were awarded beacon status.

Assisted by the good practice in our Leeds schools, we draw on a vast pool of expertise that supports PSHE, food and nutrition, drug education, sex and relationships education, emotional and mental health, participation, school councils, physical activity, sustainable schools and more. We support schools to tackle the serious things – statutory requirements, preparations for Ofsted inspections – but also, importantly, we help schools to share the successes, engage young people and have fun through our participative campaigns, events and celebrations.

We aim to help young people learn how to manage their own health, stay safe and participate proactively and positively

The programme provides imaginative and resourceful training, support and shared best practice for leaders, managers, teachers, support staff, governors, pupils and parents. We support important national and local programmes, including healthy schools, investors in pupils, sustainable schools, smoke free awards, Be Healthy! Challenge and national PSHE certification.

This online resource gives you routes into our successful (and often, leading edge) programmes. Have fun!

“This wonderful initiative is making a huge difference to our schools, to colleagues and most importantly to our children and young people.”
Chris Edwards, Chief Executive, Education Leeds
